Preschool Fine Motor Numbers Activity with Pipe Cleaners
Since beginning my new job at a bilingual preschool here in Costa Rica, I have been on the hunt for Preschool fine motor activities. Last week, we tried this in class and the kids had a BLAST!
Materials Needed
- Pipe cleaners, cut in half
- Masking Tape
- Sharpie
- Beads that little hands can slide onto the pipe cleaners
This activity is great to build fine motor skills for preschoolers, number recognition, and could even be color coordinated for the pipe cleaners to match the beads for even more learning fun!
This activity worked really well in my classroom of 3-4 year olds, with vastly different abilities of number recognition. Some students focused more on just the fine motor action of threading the beads, while others were really eager to match the colors as well!
If you try this in your class, make sure to comment and let me know how it went for your students!
