Healthy Baked Cinnamon Apples with No Added Sugar

In the past week I have made these healthy baked cinnamon apples 3 different times! My kids and husband (and I) love them so much.

I recently realized I have Candida overgrowth (yeast) and have embarked on a journey to eliminate added sugar, gluten, alcohol etc from my diet – but my sweet tooth has not been happy. Enter – this recipe!

Granny Smith Apples are great with cinnamon

Granny Smith apples are more tart/sour and have way less sugar than the other, sweeter varieties of apples. Because I’m trying to limit my sugar intake, these are my go to fruit lately! The fiber in apples is great for your digestive track too.

Damian always reminds me – “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”.

Happy kids excited about healthy baked cinnamon apples!

Ingredients for Heathy Baked Cinnamon Apples

  • 6 apples (I used Granny Smith)
  • 1 TBS Coconut Oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  1. Peel all of your apples. Then slice them into bite size chunks. We use an apple corer/slicer like this one and it saves so much time – especially if you eat apples often!
  2. Throw the apple chunks into a pie dish or other similarly sized glass baking dish. Add the coconut oil and cinnamon, stir to give it a good mix.
  3. Bake in a 350 degree Fahrenheit oven for around 1 hour. You’ll know they are done when you can easily poke one of the apples with a fork.
  4. ENJOY! They won’t last long because you will eat them so fast.
